Shawn's career trajectory has been impressive and varied. Following his college graduation, he served as a communications director for both a U.S. Congress member and the Kentucky Senate president. This pivotal moment prompted Shawn to rejoin the Army after law school, where he attained the rank of Captain in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. His military service included a deployment to Iraq in 2007, contributing to the surge forces and returning home with an honorable discharge.

Choosing Charleston, South Carolina, as his home, Shawn has been a steadfast community supporter. His dedication to veterans is evident through his appointment by Governor McMaster to the South Carolina Veterans Trust Fund Board, emphasizing his ongoing commitment to those who have served our country.

Professionally, Shawn has been a fierce advocate for justice, prosecuting sexual predators and standing up for victims of sexual abuse. As a solo practitioner based in Mount Pleasant, he not only serves the legal needs of his community but also owns a small business providing medical equipment to veterans, underscoring his continuous support for those who have served.
